ISLANDERS have been reminded by police to keep sheds and outbuildings securely locked.

The warning follows two burglaries in Shorwell in the Main Road and Farriers Way area on Sunday night.

A radio was taken from a polytunnel at Farriers Way sometime overnight or early Monday morning, and a chainsaw and a can of petrol were swiped from a nearby garden shed.

Police have also reminded people they can register their items and their serial numbers for free at immobilise.

Registering items helps police identify the owners of recovered property and can combat the resale of stolen goods.
