TODAY is the last chance to vote for two Isle of Wight destinations shortlisted for national awards.

Bembridge and Sandown Bay have been shortlisted in the Countryfile Magazine awards, with the winners decided by a public vote.

The online poll closes at midnight tonight (Sunday).

Sandown Bay is shortlisted for Best British Beach and Bembridge is in the running for Village of the Year.

The two Isle of Wight locations are the only shortlisted places in the south of England.

The Countryfile Magazine website said Bembridge is "a wonderful coastal setting with a pier and lifeboat station, plus a busy village community with independent shops, cafés and restaurants".

Meanwhile Sandown Bay is recognised by the magazine as a "traditional bucket and spade beach with golden sand, pier and eclectic seafront - and just a short walk to peace, fossil-rich cliffs and stunning coastal wildlife".

Managing director of Visit Isle of Wight, Will Myles, said: "It would be great if everyone could get behind it and bring these awards back to the Island. Bembridge is an amazing location and Sandown Bay, what can I say! Go to the website, vote now so we can bring these amazing awards back to the Island."
