A YOUNG Island actor is making moves in the film industry after landing a role in a new blockbuster movie alongside a bunch of Hollywood stars.

Tori Ellen Ross, 14, stars as Young Paige in a new film, Fighting With My Family, which follows the true story of professional wrestler, Saraya 'Paige' Bevis.

Famous actor, Nick Frost, acts alongside Tori as Paige's father, while 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson, Stephen Merchant and Lena Headey all star in the movie.

Tori, who dances with Fusion Arts on the Island, said: "It's been absolutely amazing. I'm so excited for it to come out.

"It was my first time being in front of the camera but it felt quite natural, it was really fun."

During her time on set, Tori worked with a stunt man to learn how to wrestle, hung out with the stars and spent some days filming off-set in special locations.

Although she enjoyed the wrestling, Tori said she didn't think she would pursue it as a sport — or ever do it again.

After filming, Tori received Instagram messages from Stephen Merchant and her 'big-me' in the film, Florence Paige.

"Florence said I'm like her mini me and that she really liked working with me, and Stephen Merchant said he hoped I enjoyed my time on the film.

"They were all really friendly. Florence was so nice and Stephen Merchant and Nick Frost were hilarious."

Tori has also performed at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, sung at Northwood House's Wight Proms and she competes in the Music, Dance and Drama Festival each year.

She said all her friends thought it was very cool that she starred in a new movie and they were all going to head to the cinema to see it together.

Tori's dad, Dan Ross, said: "Me and her mum are obviously very proud of her and it's been an amazing experience for Tori and for me. We hope she continues to do as much acting and performing as wants to."

Fighting With My Family, which already has an 89 per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.8/10 on IMDb, will come out in the UK on February 27.
