ONE of the UK's best kept musical secrets, Nick Harper, is heading to the Quay Arts Centre.

After a childhood growing up surrounded by the musical prowess of some of the 60s most revered songwriters and musicians, the original guitarist and songwriter will perform his new show '58 Fordwych Road'.

The show centres around his childhood — spent, as the son of musician Roy Harper, absorbing the musical talent of those part of the swinging sixties — as a tribute to all he learned growing up.

Nick later carved out his own career in music, but in this unique and one-off show, he plays tribute to the time, place and music.

The first half will see Nick delve into the deluge of songs he heard direct from the greats while growing up, and the second will trace the journey of how these luminary figures evolved and helped shape popular music.

Tickets for the event, held on Saturday, February 23 at 7.30pm, are £15 in advance and £17 on the door and are available from quayarts.org or 822490.
