THE MOTHER of Amy Winehouse will be the star guest at a special tribute weekend to the songstress.

The Nightingale Hotel in Shanklin, which has a large image of Amy adorned across the front of the hotel, is hosting the event across the weekend of March 15 and 16.

It will feature Laura Jane Butler who was voted the UK's top Amy tribute act recently, and was hailed as one of the best tributes in the UK by The Sunday Times Magazine and The Stage newspaper.

The hotel was delighted to find out that Amy's mother Janis Winehouse will also be joining them.

The event will raise money for Bryony Marie Fry, a 30-year-old artist, writer, poet and musician, who suffers from a range of mental health issues including anxiety, clinical depression and PTSD.

The County Press understands the event is virtually sold out already for the Saturday night.
