BEMBRIDGE RNLI Lifeboat was called out this evening (Friday) to assist Portsmouth colleagues tow a loose yacht to safety.

The 40 foot yacht had broken its mooring and drifted out of Langstone Harbour.

Bembridge RNLI was called out by the coastguard in adverse weather conditions to assist Portsmouth RNLI bring the boat in.

The Bembridge crew met up with Portsmouth outside the harbour and helped tow the boat back into Langstone Harbour in very turbulent conditions.

Portsmouth RNLI berthed the yacht on the Hayling Ferry pontoon and Bembridge RNLI returned to station.
