MASONRY and slates have been falling off a property into High Street, Sandown — leading to the road being closed.
The Fire Service and police are on the scene at the property, which was described by the fire service as in a dangerous condition.
Sandown High Street has been closed and a cordon put up while works to make the building safe are underway.
Southern Vectis has announced that routes 2, 3 and 8 to Newport are unable to serve the road, and diversions will be via Avenue Road, the Broadway to Melville Street on to Beachfield Road.
The property is believed to be a former hotel.
