STRONG winds have battered the Isle of Wight, whipping up large waves in Freshwater Bay.
CP photographer Paul Blackley ventured out to the wild West Wight to capture the full force of the gales earlier today.
The Met Office warns the worst is still to come, with even stronger winds forecast on Friday and Saturday.
The second weather warning for strong winds will be in force from 12pm on Friday until 6pm on Saturday.
