From Chris Morris-Perry, Ryde:

I am concerned at the impact  a no-deal Brexit will have on the Island in the immediate aftermath of March 29, in particular if the port of Portsmouth becomes a quasi lorry park.

As I see it, priority will be given to cross-Channel traffic rather than the Island. We know how susceptible our Island is to transport problems.

As a remoter part of the UK, I am concerned we will be particularly badly hit.

To this end I have e-mailed our MP and leader of the IW Council asking what representations to government have been made and for details of any preparations that have been made, but to date have received no response.

I believe Brexit preparation is a legitimate subject for further investigation and would urge the CP to follow it up.
