FIREFIGHTERS were called out by the ambulance service this morning (Friday) after a disoriented patient caused fears of hazardous material.
Ambulance staff called for support from the fire service as they dealt with a patient in Freshwater this morning.
A crew from Freshwater and a crew from Newport were called to the scene at Summers Court at 8.50am.
A fire service spokesperson said they were called out by ambulance staff who were not sure what had caused the patient's disoriented condition.
UPDATE 10:06
A fire and rescue service spokesperson said firefighters checked a property on Summers Court with gas monitors and the property was found to be safe.
The incident was handed back to ambulance staff.
