ELECTRO-POP pioneers Heaven 17 will perform at this year's Jack Up the Summer festival.

Born from the ashes of the Human League, and famed for hits including Temptation, the iconic eighties band pioneered icy electronica and futuristic funk.

They have stood the test of time and their debut album, Penthouse And Pavement, remains a classic.

Organisers said: "We are thrilled to have one of the biggest acts of the 1980s joining us at our newly remixed family-friendly throwback festival Jack Up The Summer.

"We promised a day of 100 per cent eighties chart acts and who better to kick start this year’s line up announcements?

"Heaven 17 were massive in the clubs and discos and regulars on Top of the Pops throughout the entire decade."

Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17 said: "The eighties was such a great time musically, we’re truly delighted to have been invited to the Isle of Wight to join audiences at this great summer party and to relive the good times together."

Previously Jack Up The 80s, Jack Up the Summer will take place at North Fairlee Farm, just outside Newport, on Saturday, August 10, and Sunday, August 11.

Early Bird tickets will go on sale on Monday, January 28.
