A WOMAN with a long history of drug abuse and who had a number physical problems including suffering from a recent stroke was found dead at her Shanklin flat, an inquest was told.

The body of Anne Marie Sharp, 63, of Steephill Road, was found on a sofa on May 20, 2018.

A post mortem revealed she had died from acute cardiac and respiratory failure.

Traces of morphine and amphetamine were also found in her body.

Police investigated and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Isle of Wight coroner, Caroline Sumeray concluded Ms Sharp's death was more likely related to drug use and concluded she had died a drug related death.
