AFTER hosting a free concert that had spectators flooding out the doors of Quarr Abbey, the Isle of Wight Camerata Chamber Choir promised their fans they would perform the concert again.

The choir will perform works that include Palestrina, Mozart and Bach at All Saints Church, Ryde, on Saturday, January 26.

Robin Ford, Island poet and ex-mayor of Newport, said: "Those of the many fans who managed to attend the concert at Quarr Abbey were bowled over by the content and sheer quality of what they heard, and will be delighted to know the concert will be given at All Saints.

"Those of us who attended the Quarr concert will certainly be at the January one, as we know what a treat lies in store."

The camerata choir is a small choir of about 16 voices and their clarity and purity of tone, under their director Jurgita Leistrumaite, is all the better for this.

Mr Ford said: "Come and remind yourselves in January that there is a world of beauty out there in the gloom and cool and you will leave infused with hope for 2019."

The concert is £10 per adult, children go free and tickets are available on the door or from 111.cameratacc-iow.co.uk. Doors open at 7pm.
