RUMOURS are yet again circling over the headliners for Isle of Wight Festival 2019.

Phil Collins is being touted as a contender for one of the top spots after festival boss John Giddings changed his cover photo on Facebook to a picture of the musician.

Phil Collins, whose hits include In The Air Tonight, Easy Lover and Another Day in Paradise, is touring Europe in June.

He will be in Germany on June 14 and 15, the Friday and Saturday of the festival, and he will be in Italy on June 17, the Monday after the festival, leaving only the Sunday free.

Could he be the Isle of Wight Festival Sunday headliner?

Mr Giddings said on Facebook that he expected to make an announcement on the festival line-up by the end of January.

Speculation on who will headline the festival, held at Seaclose Park, Newport, has been rife.

Acts rumoured to be appearing include Pink, Arctic Monkeys, Bon Jovi, Eagles and the Spice Girls.
