AS TEMPERATURES fall and Islanders are waking to frosty mornings, police have warned against leaving cars unattended with the engine running while frost melts.

Hampshire Constabulary issued the warning after three reports of cars being stolen from driveways this morning (Wednesday).

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We're advising residents not to leave vehicles unattended with the engine running.

"This morning we've had three reports of cars being stolen from driveways while they've been left defrosting in the Southampton and Totton areas."

Police have asked anyone with information to call 101.
