From John Rhodes, Carisbrooke:

Following the report that manager Paul Armfield is leaving Quay Arts, I would like, as a regular customer of the Quay, to thank Paul for all he he has done there over the last two-and-a-half years.

I have been going to the Quay for over 20 years, benefitting from the efforts of at least five different managers, all of whom have done wonderful work.

Paul, however, with a combination of innovation, inspiration, dedication and sheer hard work, has raised the venue up several levels.

He has opened the place up to the wider community, developed the cafe into one of the best eateries on the Island, brought us many different genres of music from across the world and made the Quay into the vibrant, lively, welcoming and enjoyable asset that it is today.

For all of this he is deserving of our grateful appreciation. His decision to move on is a sad thing for the Quay and all its customers, but I am sure all of us would like to wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.
