A YARMOUTH heritage trail booklet has been updated by historian Kevin Shaw so visitors can take a special walk about town.

Yarmouth on Foot was first published by Geoff Cotton in 1995 on behalf of the Yarmouth Society.

Kevin, a member of the society, has now updated the words and photographs so people can follow the numbered mosaic plaques dotted around the town starting and finishing at The Harbour.

Kevin said: "I have stayed true to Geoff's original words but have included new pictures and a colour map of the town to show the changes over the last few years, for example the demolition of the old police station.

"The booklet has increased to 24 pages and been printed on glossy paper and the walk gives people a lot of the interesting history of the town as they follow the trail.

"The society would also like to thank the Delphie Lakeman Memorial Trust for its support in the project."

The booklet, priced £2, will be on sale at the society's AGM at the Community Hall of Yarmouth and District on Tuesday, December 11, when members and visitors will be entertained by the Slipshod Singers.

New members welcome.

It will also be on sale at selected outlets in town.
