MEMBERS and supporters of the Isle of Wight Foxhounds enjoyed an opening meet supper at Ventnor Botanic Garden.

More than 40 people gathered at the garden cafe for drinks and canapes on Saturday (November 10) evening, before dining on locally shot pheasant and Guinness chocolate cake in the restaurant.

Botanic garden owner John Curtis, also a joint master of the hunt, offered the use of the venue.

The event raised just over £400 to feed the hounds, housed in kennels at Gatcombe.

It followed the first meet of the season, held the previous weekend.
