From Brian Greening, Newport:

I read our Tory-controlled council is soon to introduce charges for parking almost anywhere within the town (CP, 02-11-18), thereby driving motorists into supermarket car parks or, at worst, refusing to come into Newport to do their shopping.

Soon Nodehill will resemble Dodge City, with tumbleweed blowing along its length of, by then, empty shops.

I note, too, yet another letter criticising  the council leader and his political sidekick over their handling of the floating bridge fiasco (CP, letters 02-11-18). If our council was a private enterprise they both would have been sacked months ago.

The Egyptians built pyramids and Noah supposedly an ark but our illustrious leaders cannot solve the mystery of managing a regular service across that short stretch of water.
