STRONG winds have hit Freshwater Bay this afternoon (Thursday) — and more of the same is in store for tomorrow.
The Isle of Wight Met Service has issued a yellow weather warning for very strong winds and heavy rain tomorrow (Friday) night, between 3pm and 2am early Saturday morning.
Gusts of up to 50mph inland and 65mph on the coast are likely with the potential for a few 70mph gusts in the most exposed areas.
Spells of heavy rain will accompany the wind giving a lot of surface spray on the roads and some minor flooding in the usual prone areas.
