There is plenty going on over the Isle of Wight this weekend if you fancy getting out and about.

Here are five of our highlights:

Blackgang Chine's Halloween Wicked Nights, until November 3, 6pm to 10pm.

Spooky delights are on offer at Blackgang Chine in its first ever HAlloween event. The horror-based evening includes an array of gory goods, from a ghost train to a 'slaughter slide' and a live action maze with the haunted monks. Are you brave enough?

Isle of Wight County Press:

Charlie's Lifetime Collection, Cowes Heritage exhibition, Regatta House, Cowes, open daily until November 11, 10am to 4pm, free entry.

A lifetime's collection of photographs and postcards by Cowes resident, the late Charles Taylor, giving a unique look at the history of the town.

Subjects include Cowes seafront scenes, past local buildings and the damage sustained during the Second World War.

Isle of Wight County Press:

The Private Ear and The Public Eye, Apollo Theatre, Newport, Friday and Saturday, 7.30pm.

Two one-act plays by Peter Shaffer performed by the same three actors. The unobtainable and chasing the dream are central themes in this nostalgic Sixties revival.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Harp on Wight festival, various venues in Ryde, Friday to Tuesday.

The festival returns for its fifth outing this weekend with concerts and workshops embracing a wide genre of music, such as Irish jigs, Finnish tangos, Indian sitar and tabla players, operatic scores and thundering electro.

See US harpist Lily Neill, who loves ragtime, Anouk Platenkamp, from the Netherlands, who specialises in the calming effects of harp music or Prince Charles's official harpist Anne Denholme. See www.harponwight.co.uk

Isle of Wight County Press:

The Big Draw, Quay Arts, Saturday, 10am to 3pm, free.

Come and take part in this year’s family friendly national event and help make an animation on the theme of play, which will be submitted to the Big Draw competition. All ages welcome. Please note, this is a drop-in activity, not a stay-all-day workshop.
