From Richard and Rosie Barrett, Bembridge:

On THURSDAY last week, I attended St Mary’s Hospital eye clinic with my wife for a lengthy eye investigation where she was diagnosed with glaucoma.

This obviously was a very tense and worrying time.

On completion of this, we attended the pharmacy with a prescription for eye drops where the pharmacist carefully explained the application procedure.

He also informed her that there was a side effect that he must mention.

He said it was about the eyelashes.

We took this to be that the eyelashes might stick together or something similar.

“No” he said, looking at my wife with a beaming smile, it will make your eyelashes look “even more beautiful”!

All tensions immediately vanished and much laughter ensued, making this visit to St Mary’s a very pleasant and caring experience.

Our thanks to them all at St Mary’s.
