TEACHERS have been sharing ideas on using art, culture and the Island's heritage to enhance their lessons.

Almost 30 teachers from 17 schools attended a Cultural Expo, held at Quay Arts on Tuesday (Tuesday 9), where they met with members of the Island's Cultural Education Partnership.

More than 20 organisations including Ventnor Exchange, the Isle of Wight Music Hub, Brading and Newport Roman Villas, the Island's record office, Dinosaur Isle, the Isle of Wight Literary Festival and the Classic Boat Museum, together with Island artists, library staff and carnival groups, spoke about their work and how it could play a role in schools.

The expo was organised by the partnership, which was established to link schools with arts and heritage.

Its Lift the Lid on Island Culture project, funded for two years, will be led by Quay Arts.
