Meet Tika, a ginger and white domestic short-haired cat.

Tika is a special lady — only a quarter of cats her colour are female.

Sadly, she is the most overlooked cat at the Cats Protection Isle of Wight Adoption Centre in Ryde and has been looking for a home for more than 120 days.

At ten years old some people think she is too old to adopt, but Cats Protection say she'll be great company since she’s chatty and loves people, particularly when they have a nice comfy lap to curl up on.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Tika's previous owners were very fond of her but didn't feel they could offer her the interaction with people she loves.

They said: "Tika is affectionate, very confident and streetwise. She loves people but at the same time is independent and likes her own space, especially sitting in flower beds.

"She also enjoys sitting on fences greeting the neighbours, with a friendly meow.

"She loves dried cat food and after a busy day outside, she likes nothing better than sleeping and relaxing on a nice warm couch with her human companions"

Isle of Wight County Press:

Tika would suit a mature family, or a family with older children and requires a household without any other cats or dogs.

Tika is neutered, fully vaccinated, vet health checked, micro-chipped, flea treated, wormed and comes with four weeks' Pet Plan insurance.
