THERE were lots of happy faces in the crowds as the first proper night of the Isle of Wight Festival 2018 came with a bang.
It seemed to be the year of the Hawaiian shirt for some happy festival goers.
While others opted for some less traditional fancy dress.
These crayons — from across the UK — have been meeting up at the Isle of Wight Festival for more than ten years.
Local talent was on show once again as Freazy and Marlee King rocked the Platform One stage.
Marlee.
The Main Stage had a star-packed evening with Nile Rodgers and Chic, Rita Ora, The Script and Kasabian, while Feeder headlined The Big Top.

He said: "Playing festivals is great because you can see people's faces. You can see their reaction. What reaction do I want? 'We love you!' That's what I want."
Feeder backstage.
They said: "We've only got an hour to squeeze in 25 years of songs so we're going to keep it single heavy. That's what people want."

Tonight, you can catch Liam Gallagher and Depeche Mode on the main stage, or Hacienda Classical and Soul II Soul in The Big Top.
