A MAN, a woman and a teenage boy were rescued from their home by firefighters after a blaze broke out at a house in Binstead last night.

Emergency crews from Ryde and Newport used a ladder to rescue the three from a bedroom window after the fire started on the ground floor of the house in Hillrise Avenue, Binstead at 1.48am.

Fire control officers gave the occupants fire survival advice until help arrived.

The occupants of the building were taken to hospital to check if they were suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

Three fire engines from Ryde and one from Newport tackled the fire.
