STEREO MCs will headline the Friday night of July’s Rhythmtree festival.
The Brit Award winners, renowned for their live shows, enjoyed worldwide hits, including Step it Up, Ground Level, Creation and their monster smash Connected.
Friday also offers dance specialists Transglobal Underground. They are joined by the afro beat of Vaudou Game from Togo.
The opening night brings a great variety of folk, roots and world music, including troubadour Rory McLeod and the Scottish vocalist Kaela Rowan who, backed by her band, transports listeners to the Highlands and Islands with her renditions of traditional Gaelic 'puirt a buel’ or mouth music.
Rhythmtree is being staged between July 14 and 16 and is well known for its unique performance areas, including a rustic, leaf-lined, woodland stage and the Didge Cafe, offering sofas and soft seating and creating a chilled-out vibe to enjoy the sounds.
The main stage at Calbourne is set in an oak-lined green field, where the only other sounds to be heard are birdsong.
Organisers say early bird ticket sales for the eighth consecutive family-friendly festival are the best ever.
