MARK Fox will not be part of the race to replace Andrew Turner as the Isle of Wight Conservative general election candidate.
Mr Fox was one of three candidates to be named on the shortlist to contest the seat yesterday (Wednesday), with members due to select Mr Turner's replacement tomorrow evening (Friday) at a meeting to be held at Newport Minster.

But Mr Fox said his name had been added to the shortlist prematurely and he did not intend to fight for the 2017 Conservative candidacy on the Isle of Wight.
Bob Seely, who was elected as Central Wight councillor in 2013, and former David Cameron speech writer Clare Foges remain on the shortlist.
It has yet to be confirmed whether a replacement for Mr Fox will be put forward.
