THE rain didn't dampen spirits at the Island's Highland Gathering and Country Fayre.
Now in its eighth year, the fair at Northwood House, Cowes was raising money for Challenge and Adventure on Sunday, July 23.
Attendees enjoyed traditional Scottish activities such as Tug of War, Toss the Caber, Dizzy Whisky Dash and Haggis Hurling, alongside music from south coast pipe bands.
And for the day's finale, to avoid the rain, all the pipe bands squeezed together to perform in the beer tent.
Karen Eeles, fundraising manager for the charity, said: “It was fab — considering the weather. People are so supportive, whatever the weather, and the pipers will pipe come what may.”
There was also an array of live music and dancing, including performances from Wight Hot Pipes, The Crew and Slainte Va and Scottish dancing from Island dance school Shamrock & Thistle.
Despite the Scottish theme, there was even Irish dancing from Bailey Academy of Irish Dancing.
