THE PART Somerton Works played in the life of the town is chronicled in a new book published by Cowes Heritage.
John and Barry Groves compiled the 278 page book which charts the transformation over the years of Somerton where everything from aircraft, motorcycles, fridges, yachts and cars have been made through the decades.
Today, Somerton is a collection of industrial units - still playing its part in innovation.
The Story of Somerton Works costs £15 from the County Press front office shop where signed copies are available.
