A JUDGE will sentence a 22 year old woman on January 19 after she admitted unlawful wounding.

Natasha Molly Pink, of Caesars Road, Newport, admitted unlawfully wounding Matthew Rawlinson on November 7 when she appeared today (Monday) at the IW Crown Court.

She denied the more serious charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and a formal not guilty verdict was recorded by judge Jeremy Wright, who ordered a pre-sentence probation report.

Twenty six year old Mr Rawlinson was treated for a puncture wound to his chest after the assault in Caesars Road. He walked into the Cask and Crispin pub seeking help and paramedics were called.

The court was told Pink's barrister would be making a bail application on Thursday seeking her release from custody before sentence.
