Just seen on the county press on line that Malcolm has passed away. I was one of the Appledurcome gang starting my apprenticeship in 1976. Malcolm was a lovely kind man who loved his work , especially with Herbert Simkins and Ray Hillmer. Always helpful, and nothing was to much trouble. A blooming good artist too. My heart goes out all who new him.

Malcolm was a cornerstone of the Wroxall community. He was deeply involved in the restoration of Appuldurcombe ruin, tirelessly working alongside the Appuldurcombe gang during my youth. His dedication and passion were instrumental in preserving this historical landmark.
Malcolm extended his contributions beyond the walls of the ruin, dedicating himself to the betterment of our village. He was a driving force behind the success of the village carnival, ensuring that Wroxall had a mini bus for all residents to enjoy.
With late custodians Peter Wilkinson and Pat Rann, he played a vital role in encouraging my research into Appuldurcombe's history..
Malcolm, your kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to our village will be deeply missed. You leave an indelible mark on all who knew you. Rest in peace, my friend.

How very sad. He was such a lovely man. Friend to so many and always prepared to go out of his way to help anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
