Last Wednesday my wife and I saw the Blackbox Theatre Company, perform Abigail's Party by Mike Leigh at 2pm. at Quay Arts.
This was folllowed by an evening sell-out performance.
This was an excellent production by a Hampshire based professional company.
These matinee performances have advantages to those of us who are getting on a bit, do not have a car, and rely on public transport.
Living in Freshwater, as we do, more matinee performances in Newport would be much appreciated and would avoid the likelihood of a long wait at the bus station followed by a dark walk home.
I'm sure local drama groups would also benefit from reaching a wider audience if they did this too, perhaps on a Saturday afternoon.
