Anna Hardy, Shanklin:

Here we go again with E-scooters.

Despite a number of signs on the coast path from Shanklin to Sandown, several of these wretched things have come zooming by.

Expect they are illiterate or think “dismount” is only for horses?

Who exactly is benefiting from these things, apart from the hooligans riding them or whoever is hoping to make money from them?

Is it going to take a fatality for the powers that be, whoever they are, to say “we take these things seriously… lessons learned” etc. etc.

Are they really still on trial or is it a “fait accompli”? Who are the judges and jury?

As far as I can see, and from everyone I talk to, we DO NOT want these things on the Island.

Do we have to start a campaign?
