Does Mr Tyler from Brading (CP letters, 06-08-21) really want to go back to the days when queues of cars and vans lined the roads to get access to the recycling centres?

The appointment system to the recycling centres is, in my view, one of the best things to come out of the changes introduced due to the pandemic.

I no longer have to sit in my car with smelly garden waste and can guarantee to be in and out within 15 minutes. I don’t have to gamble that everybody else will arrive at the same time as me and I have to queue down the road.

As to the weak, ageist approach that elderly people do not have the facility or capability to book, they can always pick up the telephone.

The appointment system means, no queues of cars creating a hazard on the approach roads, no car engines running and polluting the atmosphere whilst waiting and a method where I know I can recycle my waste in an environmentally and convenient better manner.
