I agree with report (CP, 20-11-20) that small businesses get a raw deal against the big boys who sell the same goods and are allowed to remain open during lockdown.

I began my business in 1968 and have seen all types of problems but none so bad as today’s pandemic.

We have survived for nearly 53 years thanks recently to my family.

My daughter in the hair salon has spent a small fortune making it Covid-safe — safer than walking round a supermarket

She then has to close again and in the fabric shop, my son, grandson and granddaughter are doing click and collect and home deliveries, sometimes until late in the evening.

Praise to my family for keeping the business going.
