From Molly Dodd, Newport:
I’m afraid I have one gripe on this warm Sunday morning.
I was walking along the harbour wall in Newport, full of boats and visitors engaging the scenes.
A couple from one of the boats asked us if we knew how to obtain a shower? This was 10.30 and everything was locked up, including the decrepit-looking public toilets, I felt so ashamed.
Despite all the barriers at the entrance from Sea Street, an historic harbour could be an attraction.
To see it like this is a huge disappointment, and I haven’t even mentioned the overgrown flower beds. Why has this been allowed to happen?
Why can’t the Riverside Centre cafe open for tea and coffee, or maybe a glass of wine on the harbourmaster side of the river?
What a waste of revenue.
