THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL
(PARKING PLACES) ORDER NO 2 2020

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under Section 1, 2, 4, 32, 35,124(1 )(d) and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, had made an Order the effect of which will be:
1. To revoke the provisions of The Isle of Wight Council (Parking Places) Consolidation Order No 1 2020.
2. To re-enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following amendments:
a) To revoke 'Pay and Display 1 March to 31 October' parking restriction and introduce 'Pay and Display' only in the following lengths of road:

SANDOWN
Culver Parade, Sandown on the south-east side, from its junction with Fort Street to a point 82.5 metres north-west thereof. Culver Parade, Sandown on the south-east side, from a point 28 metres south-west to a point 158.5 metres south-west of its junction with Fort Street.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 15 metres south-west to a point 177 metres south-west of its junction with Avenue Slipway.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 5.5 metres south-west to a point 30.5 metres south-west of its junction with Esplanade Road.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 70 metres south-west to a point 121 metres south-west of its junction with Esplanade Road.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the north-west side, from a point 77 metres south-west to a point 118 metres south-west of its junction with Esplanade Road.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 24.5 metres north-east to a point 64.5 metres north-east of its junction with Battery Slip Way.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 21 metres south-west to a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with Pier Street.
Esplanade, Sandown, on the south-east side, from a point 72.5 metres south-west to a point 141 metres south-west of its junction with Pier Street.

Esplanade, Shanklin, on the south-east side, from a point 74 metres south-west to a point 108.5 metres south-west of its junction with Hope Hill.

Esplanade, Ventnor, on the south side, from a point 3.5 metres west to a point 46 metres west of its junction with Alma Road.
COWES
Queens Road, Cowes, on the north side, from a point 4 metres east to a point 42 metres east of its junction with Egypt Hill.
Queens Road, Cowes, on the north side, from a point 53.5 metres east to a point 221 metres east of its junction with Egypt Hill.

b) To Introduce 'Pay and Display' in the following area with the charge listed below:

Somerton Park and Ride Car Park, Cowes:
New Charge
24 hours | E2.00

The amendments are being proposed to facilitate the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians) and for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising;
This Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 18 March 2022.
Any person who desires to question the validity of any of the said orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the said Act, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this order may, within six weeks of the date hereof, apply to the High Court for the purpose.
