The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

The Isle of Wight Council (Great Preston Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Great Preston Road between its junctions with Carlton Road and Alexandra Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway reconstruction works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Alexandra Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Alexandra Road between its junctions with Great Preston Road and St Johns Hill. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway reconstruction works.


Notice is hereby given that the following Orders have been made under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: -
The Isle of Wight Council (Albany Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours from Monday 27 September 2021 until 1700 hours on Thursday 30 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Albany Road between its junctions with Cambridge Road and Esplanade. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Ashtree Way, Nettlestone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Friday 24 September 2021 until 1830 hours on Wednesday 29 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Ashtree Way for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours from Thursday 30 September 2021 until 0600 hours on Friday 01 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, a) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Leed Street between its junctions with Grafton Street and Broadway; b) the one-way restriction will be revoked along Leed Street between its junctions with Grafton Street and Broadway. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Cross Street, Oakfield, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours from Thursday 30 September 2021 until 2359 hours on Monday 04 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Cross Street for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours from Thursday 30 September 2021 until 2359 hours on Friday 08 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Slade Road between its junctions with Brook Close and The Sycamores. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 16 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that a) from 0001 hours from Wednesday 29 September 2021 until 2359 hours on Wednesday 13 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along St Michaels Avenue between its junctions with Wray Street and William Street; b) from 0001 hours from Wednesday 13 October 2021 until 2359 hours on Tuesday 26 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along William Street from its junction with St Michaels Avenue and approximately 52 metres east thereof. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Brighstone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that a) from 0930 hours from Monday 27 September 2021 until 1530 hours on Tuesday 28 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Upper Lane between its junctions with Main Road and Upper Lane Path; b) from 0930 hours from Monday 27 September 2021 until 1530 hours on Tuesday 28 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along North Street for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Whitepit Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Thursday 30 September 2021 until 1600 hours on Monday 04 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Whitepit Lane between its junctions with Castle Road and Winston Road. The Isle of Wight Council (Birchmore Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 29 September 2021 until Friday 01 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Birchmore Lane for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Firestone Copse Lane, Wootton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 29 September 2021 until Friday 01 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Firestone Copse Lane between its junctions with Havenstreet Main Road and Newnham Lane. The Isle of Wight Council (Warlands Lane, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 29 September 2021 until Friday 01 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Warlands Lane between its junctions with Fleet Way and Shalfleet Footpath 15. The Isle of Wight Council (Lower Road, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 7 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, for one day, from Monday 27 September 2021 until Wednesday 29 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Lower Road between its junctions with Longwood Lane and Well Cottage. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.  
The Isle of Wight Council (Union Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic and Temporary Revocation of One-Way) Order No 2 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 and 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 29 September 2021 until Friday 01 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, a) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Union Road, between for its entire length; b) the one-way restriction will be revoked along Union Road, for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs
The Isle of Wight Council (Esplanade, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Slip Road Exiting the Bus Station) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours until 2300 hours, for one day, from Tuesday 28 September 2021 until Thursday 30 October 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Esplanade from the bus station to the main Esplanade carriageway by the Rose Gardens. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during ironwork repairs.  


Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1500 hours and 0600 hours on approximately three to five shifts, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 24 September 2021 and Friday 05 November 2021. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe:
The Isle of Wight Council (Kings Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Kings Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Embankment Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Embankment Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Forest Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2021 – Forest Road between its junctions with Gunville Road and Yarmouth Road, Calbourne. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (St Georges Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – St Georges Way between its junctions with Coppins Bridge and St Georges Approach. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Wellington Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2021 – Wellington Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Whitehouse Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Whitehouse Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during high friction surfacing works.


Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 24 September 2021 and Friday 05 November 2021 the following roads will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately 6 weeks, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed.  No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works.  In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences:
