A24 Ewell By-Pass, Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
On 11 August 2021 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A24 Ewell By-Pass, Ewell that extends from its junction with A24 Epsom Road and C254 Epsom Road, to the western side of its roundabout junction with A240 Reigate Road. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable highway maintenance and/or resurfacing, and/or reconstruction and/or improvement works on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am, as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 14 August 2021. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians at all times. Access for residents and businesses on the affected length of A24 Ewell By-Pass, described above, will be via A240 Reigate Road, A2022 College Road, A2022 Alexandra Road, A2022 Upper High Street and A24 Epsom High Street. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
