Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders



Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Nettlestone, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that a) from 0800 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Thursday 16 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Gregory Avenue for its entire length; b) from 0800 hours from Friday 03 September 2021 until 1830 hours on Friday 24 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Gregory Close for its entire length; c) from 0800 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Friday 27 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Hutchinson Drive for its entire length; d) from 0800 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Monday 30 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along The Glade for its entire length; e) from 0800 hours from Tuesday 17 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Friday 17 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Orchard Road between its junctions with Ashtree Way and Rowantree Drive; f) from 0800 hours from Monday 06 September 2021 until Monday 27 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Cherry Tree Drive for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Howgate Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1900 hours on Friday 27 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Howgate Road between its junctions with Hillway Road and Nansen Close. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Southdown, Chale, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1700 hours on Wednesday 18 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Southdown between its junctions with Atherfield Road and Chale Footpath 21. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that a) from 0800 hours from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Wednesday 08 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Spithead Close for its entire length; b) from 0800 hours from Friday 27 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Tuesday 21 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Sandcove Rise for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Tamar Close, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Saturday 14 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Tamar Close for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Quay Street, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until 1600 hours on Thursday 19 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Quay Street for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (The Quay, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One Way Restriction) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until 1600 hours on Thursday 19 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, the one way restriction along The Quay will be revoked for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (St Georges Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1930 hours until 0600 hours, each night, between Wednesday 18 August 2021 and Saturday 28 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along St Georges Way between its junctions with Coppins Bridge gyratory and St Georges Approach. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway surfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Crescent Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Tuesday 17 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Thursday 02 September 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Crescent Road for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Westhill Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours from Monday 16 August 2021 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 24 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Westhill Road for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (School Lane, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2021

The Isle of Wight Council (Newport Road, Niton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0930 hours until 2300 hours, from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Newport Road between its junctions with Southford Lane and Ford Farm Lane. The Isle of Wight Council (Barton Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Barton Road between its junctions with Coppins Bridge and Beech Road. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Denmark Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Denmark Road between its junctions with The Maltings and Cross Street. The Isle of Wight Council (Bobberstone Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bobberstone Lane for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Howgate Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 5 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Monday 16 August 2021 until Tuesday 17 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Howgate Road between its junctions with Nanson Close and Brook Furlong. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during ironwork repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Alverstone Road, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 5 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Monday 16 August 2021 until Wednesday 18 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Alverstone Road between its junctions with Youngwoods Way and Kern Lane. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during kerb repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Appley Lane, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 3 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours until 2300 hours, from Wednesday 18 August 2021 until Friday 20 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Appley Lane for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.



Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0600 hours and 1800 hours on approximately five to ten days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 13 August 2021 and Friday 24 September 2021. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. It may be necessary to close this section of road on more than one occasion within this timeframe:




The Isle of Wight Council (Southfield Gardens, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Southfield Gardens for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (St Michaels Avenue, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – St Michaels Avenue for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Bettesworth Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Bettesworth Road between its junctions with Lower Bettesworth Road and Wrexham Avenue. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Simeon Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Simeon Street for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Monkton Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2021 – Monkton Street between its junctions with East Street and The Strand. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Cornwall Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Cornwall Street between its junctions with The Strand and Simeon Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (The Strand, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2021 – The Strand between its junctions with Cornwall Street and Esplanade. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Dennett Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Dennett Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – High Street between its junctions with Grange Gardens and Church Road. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Bellevue Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2021 – Bellevue Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Dover Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 7 2021 – Dover Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Castle Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Nelson Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2021 – Nelson Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Castle Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Crescent Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Crescent Road between its junctions with Queens Road and Clarendon Road. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Norton Green, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2021 – Norton Green for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway post-works.



Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 13 August 2021 and Friday 24 September 2021 the following restrictions will be in place for both day and night for a period of approximately six weeks, or when the works have been completed, for safety during carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences:

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Monday 09 August 2021 until 1830 hours on Saturday 28 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Albert Road between its junctions with Station Avenue and Victoria Road. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Bridge Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours until 1630 hours on Thursday 12 August 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bridge Road between its junctions with Arctic Road and Pelham Road.
