The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders



Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -


The Isle of Wight Council (Freshwater Road, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Monday 26 April 2021 until 1600 hours on Wednesday 28 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Freshwater Road, between its junctions with Broad Lane and Shalcombe Road. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Carisbrooke, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1830 hours from Thursday 29 April 2021 until 0600 hours on Monday 10 May 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street, between its junctions with Priory Road and Cedar Hill. The Isle of Wight Council (Royal Crescent, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Friday 30 April 2021 until 1830 hours on Thursday 20 May 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Royal Crescent, for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Blacklands Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021

The Isle of Wight Council (Sun Hill, Calbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0600 hours until 1700 hours, each day, from Monday 26 April 2021 until Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Sun Hill between its junctions with Elm Lane and Newbarn Farm Access Road. The Isle of Wight Council (Salters Road, Ryde Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours from Monday 26 April until 2359 hours on Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Salters Road for its entire length. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during drainage repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from a) 0800 hours from Monday 26 April 2021 until 2000 hours on Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Brook Close for its entire length; b) 0800 hours from Monday 26 April 2021 until 2000 hours on Friday 07 May 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Copse End for its entire length; c) 0800 hours from Monday 03 May 2021 until 2000 hours on Friday 07 May 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Mortonbrook for its entire length; d) 0800 hours from Monday 26 April 2021 until 2000 hours on Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along The Warren for its entire length; e) 0800 hours from Monday 03 May 2021 until 2000 hours on Friday 07 May 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Willow Way for its entire length. The alternative routes, where applicable, will be sign posted locally. The closures are required for safety during fibre utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Avenue, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1930 and 2300 hours, for one day, from Tuesday 27 April 2021 until Thursday 29 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Medina Avenue between its junctions with St Johns Road and York Road. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.


The Isle of Wight Council (Cliff Way, Lake, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021

The Isle of Wight Council (Harding Shute, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021

The Isle of Wight Council (Town End, Niton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021

The Isle of Wight Council (Snowberry Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0001 hours from Tuesday 27 April 2021 until 2359 hours on Thursday 29 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Snowberry Road between its junctions with Brickfield Close and Dairy Crest Drive. The Isle of Wight Council (Silcombe Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 and 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 28 April 2021 until Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Silcombe Lane between its junctions with Heathfield Road and Princes Road. The Isle of Wight Council (Winchester Park Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2021


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 and 2300 hours, for one day, from Wednesday 28 April 2021 until Friday 30 April 2021, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Winchester Park Road between its junctions with Broadway and Grove Road. The alternative route will be sign posted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repairs.



Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 23 April 2021 and Friday 04 June 2021 the following restrictions will be in place for both day and night for a period of approximately six weeks, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences:




The Isle of Wight Council (Eastcliff Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 1 2021 – Eastcliff Road for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during footway resurfacing works.



Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 23 April 2021 and Friday 25 June 2021 the following restrictions will be in place for both day and night for a period of approximately nine weeks, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of road reconstruction to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. The Isle of Wight Council (Whippingham Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 2 2021 – Whippingham Road, between its junctions with Crossways Road to Saunders Way The restriction is required for safety during carriageway reconstruction works.



Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1830 hours and 0600 hours on approximately five to ten days, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner; that no vehicle or person may use, or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. The closures are for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works between Friday 23 April 2021 and Friday 04 June 2021. The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 4 2021 – High Street between its junctions with Broadstone Crescent and West Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (St James Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 2 2021 – St James Street for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Lind Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 1 2021 – Lind Street between its junctions with Lind Place and St Thomas Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Spencer Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 2 2021 – Spencer Road between its junctions with West Street and St Thomas Street. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Coach Lane, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions Order No 1 2021 – Coach Lane for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during carriageway resurfacing works.
