East Cowes Vics are within touching distance of a play-off spot after scoring ten goals in two matches, following another fantastic display away at Fawley this evening (Wednesday, December 6).

The Islanders came into the game in ninth with a 6-0 victory under their belt against struggling Andover Town on Saturday (December 2).

The match pitted Wessex League Division 1’s joint-third-best defences (Vics) against its second-worst attack (Fawley).

What would have surely felt like a nice signing for boss Alex Smith, Charlie Marsek made the bench as he returned from injury, last featuring in Vics’ fifth game of the season against Brockenhurst on August 26.

Fawley AFC 0 – 4 East Cowes Vics

The Islanders got off to a great start with dead-ball specialist Harry TAYLOR banging in a free-kick on the 15-minute mark to make it one-nil.

Ji NASH doubled the lead for the away side, making it nine goals in five days for Vics.

Before the half time whistle, Saturday’s hat-trick hero Jacob ‘Yak’ REYNOLDS netted a penalty to make it three.

Vics made it four late in the second half, an own goal taking the game beyond Fawley.

Next up, the East Cowes side travel to AFC Aldermaston, who have only managed to secure nine points from 18 matches so far this season, on Saturday (December 9).
