COWES Sports will be aiming to put the disappointment of their poor midweek result to bed when they take on struggling Petersfield Town at Westwood Park in the Wessex Premier League.

A win could hoist the Yachtsmen into the top six.

In Division 1 of the Wessex League, out of sorts East Cowes Vics have a tough match at home to fifth placed Fleetlands at Beatrice Avenue.

Victory would not move them any higher up the table, but it will get Vics back on track and, with their games in hand, it will bring them closer to some of their immediate rivals above them.

Newport, on a poor run of form, have a tough game away at high-flying Alresford Town.

East Cowes Vics Reserves aim to retain top spot in their home game against Bournemouth Poppies Reserves in Division 1 of the Hants Combination and Development League.

Meanwhile, in Division 1 of the Island League, leaders W&B entertain Vectis, who have got off to their best-ever start in the division.

Second placed West Wight have a tricky match away against last season's Division 2 champions, Ventnor, at Watcombe Bottom.

On Sunday, in Division 1 of the Hampshire County Women’s League, Shanklin Ladies have a chance to move into the top half of the table away at Varsity.

In the first round of the County Women's Trophy, Division 2's top and bottom sides meet at Cowes, who will have their work cut out for them.

The Wight Eagles Ladies will feel confident of easing through against struggling fellow Division 3 outfit, Rushmoor Community.
