AN ISLE of Wight business has been honoured with a King’s Award – for its excellence in international trade.

A.J Wells & Sons, based in Newport, is one of 252 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for enterprise.

Established on the Isle of Wight in 1972, A.J Wells & Sons is family business with 172 staff, known for designing and manufacturing Charnwood clean-burning wood stoves, Vlaze outdoor kitchens and innovative architectural vitreous enamel solutions.

The company also famously make much of the signage and cladding for London Underground.

Operating extensively throughout Europe and trading with South Africa, North America, Japan, and Australia, A.J Wells & Sons says it is committed to productivity, sustainability, and fostering a supportive workplace environment.
