Two independent Isle of Wight record shops will open their doors early on Saturday, as part of the seventeenth annual Record Store Day, celebrating all physical forms of music with exclusive releases.

In Ventnor, Ventnor Exchange on Church Street and Reggie’s Retro on Pier Street will open at 8am, to sell limited-edition vinyl records by artists including Olivia Rodrigo, English Teacher, Noah Kahan and Olivia Dean.

There will also be anniversary reissues of albums, available to purchase, by Monty Python, Sinead O’Connor and Jessie Ware. 

In addition to DJ sets throughout the day, Ventnor Exchange will host live sets from Lewis Corry, Muffy, Oli Old, Em and the Asteroid and Cara Goodrum, as well as a music quiz hosted by Doug Alldred.

Reggie’s Retro will be featuring in-store music from The Missing, Bethan John and Greg Foat, with the latter signing copies of his records.

Ventnor Exchange is warning stock is very limited and fans are urged to get there early.

Record Store Day releases not sold in the shop will be available on Ventnor Exchange’s website from 8pm, on Monday, April 22nd.
