A historic pub in Binstead on the Isle of Wight has been renamed, as its new landlords look to make their mark.

The Fleming Arms, on Binstead Road, was taken over by Anthony and Samantha Rowthorn in January.

Isle of Wight County Press:

The couple, who describe themselves as "Islanders at heart", moved to the Island to be closer to family.

At the time, they told the County Press they hoped to turn the Fleming back into a pub for the community.

Five months on and the pub has been given a makeover.

Scaffolding, which is due to be taken down soon, has been erected outside the pub.

And new signs have gone up, revealing the pub's new name.

It will now be known as The Binstead Arms.

Anthony and Samantha have a vast background in hospitality on the mainland.

In February, Samantha told the County Press: "We're going to apply all of our skillsets to build back the Fleming Arms into the community pub and bring it back for the local residents as they deserve to have a great pub again.

"I think they've missed that."

"They've missed the food offering and they've missed somewhere they can just come and hang out with people, whether it be a coffee, a pint or a simple home cooked meal."

The Binstead Arms is open 12pm to 10pm, seven days a week.
