HAMPSHIRE Constabulary has confirmed that a body was found in a house in Newport this afternoon (Wednesday).

Police received a report at around 2.30pm of a body found at an address in Pan Close.

Officers arrived at the property and discovered the body of a man.

Ambulance crews were also on the scene, with the two ambulances and two response vehicles.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, but police remain at the address making enquiries.

The house remains cordoned off as investigations continue.
