RYDE Town Council has launched a dedicated helpline for residents.

A spokesperson said: "You are not alone. Ryde Town Council is working closely with Aspire Ryde and other organisations to help support residents of Ryde and the surrounding areas.

"We are offering a dedicated helpline for anyone seeking information and support during this period.

"Ryde ARCH, in the Upper High Street, is also distributing packed lunches to pupils of Ryde Academy registered for free school meals.

"They will be available for collection between noon and 2pm, Monday to Friday.

"We also hope to offer assistance with the delivery of prescriptions in the very near future."

Residents can access assistance for those in food poverty, for those struggling to obtain food or supplies, for those in vulnerable situations and for those experiencing difficulties with self-isolation.

They can also access mental health support, advice and information from the Citizens Advice Bureau, and assistance with dog walking, post and so on.

Those who wish to register for these services, have concerns about a vulnerable neighbour or friend, or wish to volunteer, can call 811105 between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Services can also be accessed by emailing reception@rydetowncouncil.gov.uk
